Designed and hand-built (by Mario) in Canada.
The RCV is meant to be used immediately in front of an amplifier, audio interface and/or a mixer — when the absolute best audio quality and noise immunity are desired and money is no object!
Premium‡ JENSEN™ transformer
Converts balanced ↔ unbalanced
Isolates balanced/unbalanced signals
Splitter for 2 amps, interface or mixer
Eliminates ground loop hum and noise
Receiver, long-line (up to 330ft./100m)
100% passive, requires no power supply
Feed the INPUT of the RCV with the ¼" cable run from a pedalboard — either TS for unbalanced, or for extra long distances (up to 330ft./100m) with exceptionally good noise immunity, use TRS for balanced.
Connect the ISOLATED output of the RCV to the input of an amplifier, audio interface or mixer using a short ¼" cable — TS for unbalanced or TRS for balanced. If a ground loop does occur, use the GROUND button to eliminate the hum and noise.
If the last device or pedal on your pedalboard already has a balanced output, then connect it directly to the INPUT of the RCV. If you would like to convert output signal(s) to balanced, use our IsoFormer™ UNO/DUO, Compatt/X Unity+™, DBIO™ or DBTM™.
A single RCV can split your signal between 2 amps, or one amp and an audio interface or mixer, without any ground loop hum and noise. And, the included PHASE push-button ensures that you will never have a phase cancellation issue (which results in a sound that can be described as hollow, thin, not as loud, lacking low end or fullness).
For splitting to more† than 2 amps, just use more of them, one RCV for each amp. Use a patch cable from the SPLIT output of one to the INPUT of another and connect the ISOLATED outputs to the input of each amp. Repeat the daisy-chain for more amps and use the THRU output of the last RCV to feed the input of an additional amp.
The buttons, input, and output jacks are decisively arranged so that the RCV can serve as an amplifier head-rack's ultra compact audio input interface or patch-box, even with multiple daisy-chained RCVs.
- The RCV is completely passive and doesn't need a power supply.
- Housed in a compact 112.5 x 60.5 x 38.1mm (4.43 x 2.38 x 1.50in.) and rugged Hammond 1590 die-cast aluminum enclosure (its footprint is the same as a Phase 90 pedal).
† Multi-Amp Splitter
The number of RCVs that can be daisy-chained for splitting to multiple amplifiers depends on various factors, but a minimum of 2 to 4 (for 3 to 5 amps) is conceivable.
‡ Premium JENSEN™ Transformer
"For over 40 years, Jensen Transformers Inc. has set the benchmark for delivering the highest quality transformers, with the widest frequency response, least distortion, lowest phase deviation, best common-mode noise rejection and maximum signal handling."
Though all of Jensen™ Transformers Inc.'s isolation transformers provide outstanding performance, our RCV utilizes their absolute best transformer - spec'd for the most "demanding" applications... We set the standard in 2014, you just didn't know it, until now!
