If you’re using an amp simulator pedal such as the Boss IR-2 or IR-200, Line 6 HX, Strymon Iridium, UA Dream/Lion/Ruby/Woodrow, or Walrus ACS1... then the IsoFormer™ UNO should be your first choice for both isolating and interfacing your sim, from and to, the front-of-house. Since the UNO is not a DI box, its balanced output signal is not padded (down) so less or no gain will be necessary at the console... Always play confidently knowing that the UNO's CUSTOM transformer and ground lift will guarantee your tone is at its absolute best and totally hum-free.
Running two amps from a stereo pedal will normally result in unwanted ground loop hum and noise. Use the UNO between either the left / right output of the pedal and the input of one amp to immediately kill the ground loop and eliminate the hum and noise.
The UNO can split your signal between two amps, or one amp and an audio interface or mixer, without any ground loop hum and noise. And, the included PHASE push-button ensures that you will never have a phase cancellation issue (which results in a sound that can be described as hollow, thin, not as loud, lacking low end or fullness).
For splitting to more† than 2 amps, just use more of them, an UNO for each amp. Use a patch cable from the SPLIT output of one to the INPUT of another and connect the ISOLATED outputs to the input of each amp. Repeat the daisy-chain for more amps and use the THRU output of the last UNO to feed the input of an additional amp.
With the UNO at the end of your pedalboard's signal chain, and an IsoFormer™ RCV in front of your amp, you can send your guitar signal via ¼" TRS balanced cable over extra long distances (up to 330ft. / 100m) with the best noise immunity possible; ensuring the tone reaching the distant amp is absolutely flawless and noise-free.
The buttons, input, and output jacks are decisively arranged so the UNO can serve as the pedalboard's ultra compact output interface / patch-box, freeing up valuable real estate for effect pedals.
- The UNO is completely passive and does not need a power supply.
- Housed in a compact 112.5 x 60.5 x 38.1mm (4.43 x 2.38 x 1.50in.) and rugged Hammond 1590 die-cast aluminum enclosure (its footprint is the same as a Phase 90 pedal).
† Multi-Amp Splitter
The number of UNOs that can be daisy-chained for splitting to multiple amplifiers depends on various factors, but a minimum of 2 to 4 (for 3 to 5 amps) is conceivable.
