Like a can of bees, the Unpleasant Surprise adds chaos to every note through a very simple set of controls. Onset, Volume and 3 toggle switches. Onset is an interstage gain control- which means turned down you get gated sputtering and muttering, turned up you get a wide open fuzz that really spits. Toggles are for Treble (Cut/No Cut), Gain (Open/Saturated), and Crusher (On/Off). All the toggles interact uniquely with the Onset control providing a slew of fuzz tones; none of them pretty.
